"The main reason why I do what I do is because I'm a Vietnamese refugee,” says Nahji Chu.
“And that comes with a lot of responsibility, especially having arrived really early on. As one of the first, I feel like I have to represent my people. I have to prove to Australia that Vietnamese refugees are worthy of being here, and we work hard to try to prove ourselves worthy."
It's a role she's played for a long time, and she’s been at the frontlines of Australia’s status as a multi-culture.
"I've been that person for a very long time.I fought a lot for the diversity that Australia has today. The anti-racism that we have today. I really was that woman on the front line."
