Uncle’s Smallgoods is a family smallgoods maker in Dandenong, Victoria. For over thirty years we’ve been smoking, curing and making properly — hams, bacons, salami, pastrami, kransky and more — the way it should be done. Small batch. Real ingredients. No shortcuts. We’re not the cabinet at the back of the supermarket. We’re the deli, done better. WHERE WE COME FROM Uncle’s began in the 1990s, when Marian and Nora Poprawski started making traditional Polish smallgoods for Melbourne’s Polish community — the recipes they grew up with, made the way their family always had. Two decades on, the next generation took the reins: Brendan, our Smokemaster, and Bartek, our Ham Dealer. They cut their teeth running the Yumski hot dog stand at Federation Square back in 2010, then carried the family trade into a purpose-built, solar-powered smokehouse in Dandenong. Same family. Same standards. A bit more swagger. WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT Everything we make comes back to three things. — Better Taste. Food that tastes like it should — rich, smoky and properly seasoned. The kind of thing people remember, and come back for. — Better Ingredients. Real meat, real spices, and nothing on the label we’d be embarrassed about. Our Natural range is made without added nitrites — the cleaner end of the deli cabinet, with none of the flavour given up. — Better Process. Small batch, made by hand, smoked over real fire in our own smokehouse — solar-powered, because doing it properly shouldn’t cost the earth. THE RANGE — Natural — our no-added-nitrite line: hams, bacons, smoked chicken, pastrami, kabana, kransky, hot dogs and salami. — Classic — the traditional cabinet: ham, bacons, smoked turkey, weisswurst, black pudding, chorizo, prosciutto, and smoked salmon and trout. Customer favourites: our Natural Ham — our number-one seller, whole or sliced — and our New York Pastrami, a food service hero. IN GOOD COMPANY Uncle’s is already on shelves and menus right across Victoria — Coles Local, Ritchies and IGA, and independent grocers and providores including Sacca’s, Happy Apple, Baker Bleu, Terra Madre, LaManna, Harris Farm and Boccaccio. On the food service side, you’ll find us at venues such as the Grand Hyatt Melbourne and Earl Canteen.
