From premium cooked chicken and other sandwich meats to some of Sydney’s finest antipasto, Only Fresh are one of the most reliable, go-to suppliers for sandwich and salad cafe staples.
A family business since 1984, the business originally only supplied cooked chicken, but has since expanded and now stock over 1000 products.
General Manager, Terry Stefanatos says that the business was able to grow because of their focus on quality. Their original cooked chicken was different to other products on the market because there is no filler or nasty chemicals - something rare in the market.
With this focus on quality ingredients that truly lift the end result, Terry is proud of the impact Only Fresh has had on its venue customers. So much of an impact that they’ve grown 30-50% per year.
We chat to him about how he’s been able to grow his business - and how Ordermentum has contributed to that growth.

What are the main challenges you’ve had with scaling and growing your business?
We are growing so fast that finding enough staff is always a challenge. Pricing has also been a bit difficult since Covid – managing our costs without burdening our customers is a constant concern.
Why did you first start using Ordermentum?
We have been with Ordermentum for over 5 years. Before that, we were taking orders the old-fashioned way.

Why didn’t you build your own ordering app?
We considered it, but it would have added so much more work. The initial investment alone would have been over $20,000.
Plus, the ongoing development, maintenance and support would have posed major hurdles. With Ordermentum, we have that support. If there is ever any issue, I know we can get help and resolve the matter fast.
What have the main benefits of Ordermentum been?
A lot of our time is freed up, which makes us more efficient and we present better. 90% of our orders and payments go through Ordermentum, and this has drastically reduced our admin.

How do you use Sign Up Links?
Sign Up Links make onboarding seamless. Customers just scan the link on their phone, and it is instantly on their device.
You can create different Sign Up Links which in turn allows us to track where a new lead has originated from, whether it’s the QR code on our vehicles or the Sign Up Link attached to a supplier partnership.
What do you think of Growth Engine?
Growth Engine has been like a 24/7 salesperson. It has brought in leads I would never have found otherwise. My initial expectation was perhaps a few leads a week; however, this has surpassed to 50 leads per month.
When you think about what a salesperson costs, it was a no brainer for us. Growth Engine never stops working, even at 2am.
What do you think of the Digital Catalogue?
The Digital Catalogue is fantastic; it allows potential and existing customers to easily search and find what they require.
Having such a large inventory of products we have found this extremely beneficial. Another benefit with Digital Catalogue is stock tracking, which allows us and the customer to keep track of availability of products.
How do you use visibility groups for franchise clients?
We deal with a wide variety of franchises. Visibility group allows us to only display specific products which are parallel to head office requirements. It makes the order process for franchises effortless.
Do you use the promotions feature?
Absolutely. If we have excess stock or products that we can purchase at a special price this allows us to pass the savings onto our customers via promotions which we find to be incredibly effective.

What feedback do you get from your customers using Ordermentum?
Roughly 70% to 80% of our customers were already familiar with Ordermentum so the learning curve is small; there is market acceptance.
They also particularly love the favourites feature as it makes reordering seamless.
What would you say to another supplier considering Ordermentum?
It should be at the top of their list. I have spoken to others within the industry, and if there are any downsides to Ordermentum, they are insignificant to the major benefits. It's professional and its 24/7.
Best of all, I can go home when the sun is still up. There was a long period where I never saw the sun.
