Taking place at the Grand Pavilion within the Melbourne Showgrounds on March 22nd to 24th, MICE 2018 is your number 1 event for all things coffee. Last year was a huge success, with almost 10,000 cafe owners, baristas, roasters, and service providers participating, and this year, we’re sure it will be even better.
If you haven't decided if you're going to attend, here are six reasons why you shouldn't miss the largest specialty coffee event in the Asia Pacific region.
1. IT WILL BE A 3-DAY EVENT OF SOCIALIZING AND COFFEE SAMPLING
This year’s MICE is expected to draw thousands of professionals - including roasters, suppliers, and distributors - from around the country. If you’re in the industry, this is your best chance to broaden your network and discover the latest products in the coffee scene. The expo also allows you to taste coffee from the best roasters in Australia.
2. YOU’LL GET TO WATCH AUSTRALIA'S MOST TALENTED BARISTAS AT WORK
It will be impossible to be bored at MICE, especially when events like the Barista Big Bash and Australia Coffee Championships are taking place. You'll be able to watch your favourite Baristas and Latte Art champions work their magic and witness the country’s best baristas battle it out for a chance to be part of the world-wide competition.
3. THERE WILL BE HUNDREDS OF EXHIBITORS
MICE 2018 will bring together more than 120 exhibitors from the coffee, dairy, tea, and equipment supply industries. So if you’re a cafe owner wanting to stay ahead of new trends, the expo is a great opportunity for you to discover new products to add to your inventory.
Some of the wholesalers that will be out in force at this year’s event are Axil Coffee Roasters, ONA Coffee, Riverina Fresh, St. Ali, and Rumble Coffee Roasters. Ordermentum - our B2B ordering and payments platform - will also hit the showgrounds, too! Make sure you stop by and visit us at Stand 105.
4. IT WILL AGAIN FEATURE THE AUSTRALIAN INTERNATIONAL COFFEE AWARDS (AICA):
The only international coffee roasting competition in the country returns to MICE this year. This prestigious competition offers exhibitors the chance to benchmark their coffee products against industry standards, receive helpful feedback from industry experts, market and promote their coffees, and gain access to exclusive toolkits.
In 2017, AICA received over 800 entries from more than 180 exhibitors from New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, Canada, and the United States.
5. THE MICE PRODUCT INNOVATION AWARDS WILL BE BACK, TOO!
Thanks to the Product Innovation Awards businesses and individuals exhibiting at MICE 2018 will again have the chance to win prizes and receive recognition for their unique products. There will be two categories this year: the People’s Choice and the Judges' Choice.
All entrants must be a registered exhibitor at Melbourne International Coffee Expo 2018 and have invested in developing a new and one-of-a-kind product, technology or service over the last year. We can't wait to see the latest and greatest innovations unveiled at the show!
6. IT WILL FEATURE THE ORIGIN ALLEY
The seventh edition of MICE wouldn't be complete without the Origin Alley. This unique part of the 3-day expo lets visitors and participants meet the growers behind their favourite cups of coffee. You'll get a behind the scenes look at the process it takes to get the raw beans from the farm into the cup.
The Melbourne International Coffee Expo is more than just a trade show. It’s a place where the local coffee industry’s best roasters, baristas, suppliers, and service providers meet and connect. It will be an amazing event and one you won't want to miss! You can buy your tickets at the door or beat the queues and save some money through Eventbrite.
